A LETTER TO MY YOUNG SON

At that time i was an eighteen or nineteen year old when i read something similar probably in a daily news paper...."A letter to my young daughter". Basically it was all about how she should behave and take important decisions before as well as after marriage. How she should take care of all lovingly and adapt to the changed environment and culture after marriage. Why she should have her first child as soon as possible....Why her husband's career is more important than hers....How she should help in binding the family......things like this....Extremely suppressing for today's generation ...but may be appropriate for the Eighties of the last century.

Over the years much has been written for the daughters and surprisingly the girls are still learning and trying to improve and generally speaking, doing well too.Still there are some marked changes in the viewpoint of females which is quite visible. Now these young girls are very sensitive towards their own career and they definitely need support of parents as well as spouse and rest of the family. They are aware of their rights and duties equally and choose to exercise the same too which is good for the equality without any disparity in our society.

Earlier only sons were pampered, but now daughters are equally encouraged to perform better. We can't rest upon the ideas of last generations for a clue to set pattern of actions and reactions for that. It is a new, modern era which requires equal participation of both husband and wife to accomplish in life.Sharing of all the responsibilities equally is the key factor which can always help in keeping long lasting relationship.

We are moving towards equality for males and females, which is a very positive sign for a balanced and ultimate growth of the society. Both giving and accepting love and respect is important.Performance of both weighs equal in all varied fields of life.......Certain responsibilities like financial or social security which were male oriented are now being shared by females too.Similarly certain female oriented responsibilities are also being shared by males, which is progressive.More and more females have become an asset and not a liability for the society.... She is equally capable....so value her presence in your life.

Definitely we are moving towards a more balanced home and society. So son, it requires  intelligent and dynamic participation of you equally.....All the best.....for all your future endeavors.....
