That day all the members of the group were almost sure that the group is going to break.Everyone was planing to move ahead,say adieu peacefully.A little perturbed, i was remembering old times spent with these friends. Some good & some bad memories down the years of association,around 23 years .We friends are quite like an extended family,of course having different types of temperament.
We traveled to different places together, umpteen number of times & really enjoyed every trip a lot.I always believed that a person chooses his/her friends.There was always enthusiasm for the monthly get-together.All the details were generally discussed.....What will i wear.....Who all are attending..... What is good/bad news about all..............etc.In a nutshell if i describe the euphoria before the party, was many a times, nostalgic.
We grew together for good 23 years.....There was affection,care,warmth,sincerity,concern for others & of course our dose of differences in opinion & also our share of misunderstandings & fights......But still we were together always,watching everyone's interest......sharing our sorrows & happiness together with concern.
Over the years physical & financial conditions of generally all changed.With these pleasant or unpleasant condition changes,deterioration in the friendly relationship cropped in.We stopped complaining directly........back-biting started.Solution to the problems was being rather not searched or avoided.Indifference to others behavior was the new solution.
Indifferent response continued for the last 2-3years.....So that is how the present state of the group developed.Today every one was may be a little upset thinking about the outcome of an investment of so many years in the friendly relationship............May be this is the last formal get-together.....
The host welcomed all with warmth & due respect & love.The welcome drink, the snacks,the games were all excellent..Now was the time to start the new round ....as we do every year....choose the host for the next month.......
One of the members was reluctant for the next round...He wanted certain norms to be followed,certain rules for the meetings,certain grievances to be discussed, some misunderstandings to be cleared before the next round starts.......A good amount of pleasant/unpleasant discussion followed for around 2 hours.
All of a sudden i could feel the warmth in the heated discussion returning.....Real sincerity......Real concern.....the much needed warmth for finishing the cold behavior of indifference. We started our next round on a very pleasant note.Thanks to breaking the ice.

Good for all of you to have opened up and discussed your differences, rather than being indifferent. Indifference is the worst that can happen to a relationship. And good friends are rare to find, so one must preserve the ones they have.
