Religion ........what is religion....everyone knows about that.....So much is already available to read to listen to or to see......A more appropriate question probably is ......what is the purpose of religion.......some people know about that........and very few actually understand that and even lesser want to tell the truth about religion to their fellow beings.
So generally speaking every one is simply accepting what ever little knowledge is available or understood......majority of people have no inclination to go deep and understand the actual purpose of religion.....or they have no time or means for doing deep study.
Then there is this bigger problem of politicizing the religion which acts as a deterrent for the actual seekers.Another problem of superstitions and misguiding advisers is quite prevalent.....The innocent follower of the religion accepts all as told by the priests.....or so to say more experienced followers....without an iota of doubt they accept.
There is one more interesting class of followers which takes pride in following the rituals...the whole essence of religion lost in performing daily rituals...and beyond that no research on the subject of religion is ever exercised....except for propagating the rituals.
No self research on the highly respectable scriptures is practically done. We actually start worshiping the scriptures without putting in an effort to analyze and understand the meanings.......or we simply read scriptures without actually thinking about the hidden guidance in these.
Why we practice the religion with ignorance.....without proper analysis and research.......Why this whole practice of rituals......daily visit to the shrine...becomes nothing more than a good routine followed daily.
The whole practice becomes a kind of religious entertainment ......without actually benefiting the practitioner.....Its time we rethink our concept of how to follow the religion.....how to get maximum benefit.......
An introduction to God is propagated by all the different faiths...and its an automatic first step for a child to get introduced to the concept of existence of a higher force... The Almighty....So role a religion can't be ignored........
