Today in the morning while reading the daily paper i came across a picture of a five sided glass floor installation on the top terrace of the Aiguille du Midi mountain peak (3842 meters), above Chamonix, in the French Alps, with a 1000 meter drop below top view......a perfect view, giving the visitors an impression of standing in a void. As the projected floor is also made up of transparent glass, so one has a clear feeling of the height of mountains and depth of the valley beneath one's feet.
A thought came across,what is it like standing in a void...nothingness...or absence of the knowledge of the obvious floor...a support...seems quite adventurous and risky at the same time.
Generally in life we plan for the future, or at least try to have a well researched and fair idea about the outcome of any action that we take in the present. Very rarely we try to venture out in the unknown territory, be it on our decisions for education, profession,social calls or for religious or spiritual realms.
We have well guarded approach or decisions without leaving anything on chance.More or less we know what is the outcome of that certain path we have already chosen. The whole life goes on and on as had been for earlier generations without much change, differing only in the compulsive show and output of the era, which is definitely mandatory....for example as an X or Y-generation has to breath with enormousness of say internet........still having a tendency of taking well calculated steps or risks.....holding the floor beneath.
Still sometimes in life we do find ourselves in certain situation we had never thought about, never ever researched about, had no first hand information about.Suddenly we come across a path we had never tread before. Life throws us in unseen circumstances where in, none of the data of past reaction, stored in our mind, determines the impact of our present action.
We find ourselves in alien situations...................
Life is a constant process of learning.The lessons keep on adding, getting bigger and bigger in altitude as for learning. Many a times a situation like stepping into the void comes, without a hint for the outcome.....Venturing into the unknown....stepping into a void......
